This is a very special family who has traveled from quite a distance to get back to their hometown for a visit. And they chose ME to capture part of their time together. What an honor! These guys were so much fun to hang out with and get to know. I’ve found lately that the beach is the only location that is mosquito free and not unbearably hot, and I think this was the perfect place for these guys. As you can tell in one of the pictures, they added a temporary addition for one of their photos. We found this pelican (I don’t know birds??) and he let us get really close to him. I don’t know if he was sick or just really social but we decided to take advantage of the rare ability to get that close.

And my personal favorite…

On a somewhat related side note, while I was photographing these guys Tuesday evening my mom got a call that they had the perfect liver waiting for her. She’s been waiting for a liver transplant for about three months so we were elated and shocked that she got the call so quickly. She’s doing very well. She’s still waiting to come home. Please pray for her. Her name is Marilyn.

I don’t think I’ve put any pictures of my kids up here in a while. They do not like me taking pictures of them. Not at all. I guess that’s typical for most photographer’s kids. My youngest especially doesn’t tolerate it. Here are a few I manged to get today. There are a few more on my personal blog.

That one of Mikey on the right is so awful…and so funny. He just wasn’t feeling it.

Okay I have to give a shout out to my friend Karen McCown, who makes the most creative and beautiful cakes in Brazoria County! It’s a fact. Trust me. Her new business is called The Uncommon Cakery. The website will be up soon but in the mean time, you can check out more of her stuff on her facebook page. Here are a couple of her cakes that I have seen (and tasted) in person and they were simply perfect. And if you can’t see the facebook link, feel free to contact me and I’ll put you in touch with Karen.
