I don’t think I’ve put any pictures of my kids up here in a while. They do not like me taking pictures of them. Not at all. I guess that’s typical for most photographer’s kids. My youngest especially doesn’t tolerate it. Here are a few I manged to get today. There are a few more on my personal blog.
That one of Mikey on the right is so awful…and so funny. He just wasn’t feeling it.
If you’re at all interested in seeing how a photographer takes bad pictures of her own kids, you might want to visit my other blog.
I’ve met and photographed many children and I still say that this beautiful son of mine is still the hardest to photograph. A few others have come close but he still wears the crown.
What can I say about Jackson? He’s funny but also very serious and literal at times.
He still prefers to be in his underwear whenever he has the chance. I don’t think he’ll ever grow out of that. He hams it up for attention more than we would like.
He loves very deeply. He’s empathetic and forgiving far beyond his years. And he adores his family.
He lights up a room.
See?
I wanted to be a mom for as long as I can remember. Jackson made me a mom. And he’s making me a better mom every day of his life. He holds me accountable. He challenges me. He questions me. He is more than I ever hoped for.
But I did have to pay him $5 to let me take these pictures.
Jackson’s hair was getting just a little too long. He looked homeless. I took him to Urban Eve, a hip place in town to get something cool for summer. Jason did a great job taking Jackson from homeless to super cool. Take a look.
My baby just turned 7!! He took me and his daddy to Houston this weekend to hang out and celebrate his birthday. We decided to leave the little brother with the grandparents this time. Maybe next year he’ll be able to join us. Here are some highlights from the weekend.
On a sad note, we think we left his security blanket at the hotel. We have called and I’m hoping they find it. Jackson is completely heartbroken about it and Phillip and I feel like horrible parents.
I don’t think I’ve posted any pictures of my kids in a while. My oldest, Jackson, has pretty much forbidden me from taking pictures of him. And my youngest, Micah, either ignores me or throws stuff at my camera. (And if that was just an inappropriate use of commas, I don’t care.) Anyway, here are a few of my almost seven year old son Jackson. He allowed me to photograph him on Monday. He’s an amazing child and I really had a good time hanging out with him.
