You were here, in this moment, surrounded by many people who love you, watching one of the biggest moments of your life.
It was really important to these kiddos (adults) to get one last family session in before they left for college. I love when people value family photography, even if the kids aren't little anymore.
So...a year or so ago, I said I wasn't going to work with newborns anymore. I know, I know, probably not the best way to start a newborn blog post. But sometimes I say things that I don't completely mean. I think I'm rediscovering my love of working with newborns, but I've realized that I really have to do it the way that works for me. There are some astounding, flat our miracle workers locally when it comes to newborns. I really don't consider myself one of those. And I think in trying to be one of those miracle workers, I began to tell myself that perhaps I should just leave the newborn work to them. But I believe that there is a beautiful and honest way to capture newborns that is very much my style. I just need to stay true to me and what I love. And that includes family involvement in as many of the photos as I can.
And this doll was very kind to me. Such a sweet, perfect little gentleman.
This little angel is just too sweet for words. And there just couldn't be a more precious family for her to be born into. They have lived out such hope, faith, and grace for all to see. I'm honored to call them friends. And the next time I get my hands on little Savannah it will be to just sit and breathe her in. Sweet girl, I am so glad you are here. Ms. Jenny loves you.
This little one wins "The Most Cooperative and Outstanding Two Year Old in the History of Ever" Award!! She was seriously so amazing!!! It's not secret that two and three year olds aren't always the *easiest* little people to work with. So I'm always kind of mentally prepared for whatever mayhem may arise, but Abigail was just so wonderful!! And it's been an honor to get to know her parents. They're just cool folks!
This session was before Christmas. Yes, I know... Anyway, the weather was not great and I have been wanting to take pictures here at out local Arts and Sciences Museum. This ended being a great place for the boys to play and explore. I love what we were able to capture!
And he's this same little guy a year ago. It's hard to believe how much they change in a year. Happy birthday, sweet boy!
We had so much fun taking these photos. We laughed until we cried. Most years it has been near torture to try to get photos for our card. This year, we decided to make it fun. I LOVE how it turned out.
I think this is the 6th birth that I've photographed and it was totally my favorite because this little guy is our new nephew!! It was just such an honor to be there and be able to help tell his birth story through pictures. I had a hard time narrowing it down for this post because I just want to share them all!! So anyway, meet our new nephew, Oliver. He cleans up pretty nice.
I'm not *really* doing newborn photography anymore so I kind of hesitate to put these up, but I just can't help it. This was one of the easiest newborn sessions I've done. This little man was amazing and I really love the images that we were able to capture. And I think I really just prefer newborn photos to mostly be in b&w so that's what I'm putting up. Such a sweet boy.
I just simply can't get over some of these pictures of her.
I don't typically work with families with older children. Not because I don't want to. I think it's just difficult to talk teenagers into family photos. And many parents don't really think of doing family photos once their kids aren't little anymore. But with their son heading off to college, it was important for these guys to remember this time. And I just LOVE these photos!
This sweet girl in these photos just stole my heart! I think she is stunning! And what makes a beautiful girl even more beautiful is when she doesn't seem to be aware of her beauty. Miss L... you are so beautiful! I hope you can see that in these photos. Thanks for humoring me and your mom so we could capture these.
I haven't blogged a wedding in a while. This seems like a fun one to put up. These guys were great to work with. Their wedding just oozed happy and care free from beginning to end. It was an honor to be a part of it.
Such a cutie. But I don't want to embarrass him.
I love this boy so much that it hurts.
This is the pleading look of a toddler who really really wants his toy truck back. I may or may not have taken it away and put it on my head to get him to look at me. He was very busy. And very cute. I gave him his truck back. I mean, seriously, can you say "no" to this face??
Proofing these photos now and had to share this one. So lovely.
I'm pulling a late night tonight, but I decided I need to share these images of Cohen and his folks before I do anything else! Since I love all of these in black and white so much, that's what you're going to see. They are such a beautiful family! And just in case you see them around town, be sure to welcome them to the great state of Texas.
I met up with these guys during the week of Thanksgiving. They are a funny bunch. I saved some of the more silly ones for their private gallery. It's got to be a crazy house with four boys! And now one of those boys is engaged and will soon be getting hitched. I hope you love the photos, guys. It was so fun hanging out with y'all.
I met up with this handsome fellow a couple of weeks ago. The sky was awesome and it ended up being a really great day for photos.
This is seriously one of the cutest families I know. I loved working with these guys. I love the colors, the smiles, the personality. I love everything about these photos. And now that we're several weeks out, I can say that these photos were even worth getting chiggers for. That's right...me, my son, at least three of the folks in this family all got chiggers from rolling around in that grass! Itchy itchy!
